Every Austin Touchstone home incorporates advanced building science for superior energy efficiency, comfort, durability, and indoor air quality.

Advanced Building Envelope

Our ICF walls provide massive thermal mass that stabilizes indoor temperatures, continuous R-23 insulation that eliminates thermal bridging, and airtightness ratings under 1.0 ACH50—five times tighter than code-built homes. Combined with triple-pane windows and comprehensive moisture management, our building envelopes outperform standard construction by 50% or more.

Right-Sized Mechanical Systems

In a tight, well-insulated home, HVAC systems can be dramatically smaller. We use Manual J calculations to precisely size equipment, resulting in systems that run longer at lower capacity for better humidity control, more even temperatures, quieter operation, and lower energy bills. Heat pump water heaters and whole-house dehumidification complete the package.

Passive Solar Design

Strategic building orientation, south-facing glazing, and properly sized overhangs work with nature to reduce heating and cooling loads before mechanical systems even turn on.

All-Electric Ready
